Cross-platform Ed-Tech for schools teaching, assessing & managing online education
A single platform replacing Google Classroom, Zoom, and disparate school tools — combining live lectures, assignments, assessments, automated attendance, and real-time management reporting in one product.
With COVID-19 forcing education online, schools were patching together multiple tools — Zoom for lectures, Google Classroom for assignments, separate apps for tests. Classroom.liv was built to end that fragmentation.
As BA and UX Designer, the role spanned understanding stakeholder needs across three user groups — teachers, students, and school management — and translating those into a continuously evolving, live product.
Unlike platforms providing individual benefits — Google Classroom for assignments, Zoom for lectures — the goal was a single, integrated solution covering the full school experience.
Three core goals drove every design and product decision throughout the project:
Automated attendance, autogenerated reports, and integrated assignment tools eliminating the manual overhead that consumed teachers' time outside class hours.
Lecture recording, a digital content library, and real-time student progress dashboards giving teachers the insight to teach more precisely and intervene earlier.
Individual reports, personalised feedback on assignments, and adaptive assessments making every student's journey through the platform feel tailored to them specifically.
Live sessions with automatic attendance tracking — no manual roll calls, no third-party apps. Lectures are recorded and made available to students after class.
Objective, subjective, or mixed assignments with due dates, autogenerated submission reports, and teacher evaluation tools including highlighter and pen annotation.
Personalised student performance reports and real-time analytics for school management — segmented into academic and administrative reporting views.
An integrated content generator and library allowing teachers to build, store, and share study material — reducing prep time and making resources accessible anytime.
Teachers can schedule assignments in advance — the platform handles delivery, reminders, and deadline tracking automatically, reducing back-and-forth communication.
A dedicated school administration view with real-time analytics on daily school performance and interval-based reports — giving principals and admin full visibility.
Understanding competitors and studying features used by the education industry for virtual knowledge delivery.
User stories created from research and maintained in Excel for all features to be incorporated across phases.
Using user stories, the first designs were made — low-fi to high-fi. Some features were moved to phase 2, currently being implemented.
Approved designs developed by the tech team, QA tested, and handed to marketing for promotion and sale.
Quick hand-drawn explorations and rough digital layouts to validate information architecture and user flows before committing to detailed design work.
Detailed layouts with accurate spacing, typography, and component placement — used for stakeholder reviews and developer handoff reference.
Polished, interaction-ready designs with documented states, edge cases, and annotations — the definitive source of truth for development.
